Ofsted success for Kingswinford Academy in Dudley

24th September 2024

Kingswinford Academy in Dudley is celebrating its latest Ofsted report after inspectors found the school continues to be a ‘Good’ school.  The Section 8, ungraded inspection, took place as part of Ofsted’s commitment to visiting ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ schools to ensure they continue meeting their students’ needs.

During the inspection, which took place on 10th and 11th July 2024, Ofsted found that leaders at Kingswinford Academy continue to set high standards for students’ work and behaviour, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), while offering a broad and ambitious curriculum.

Inspectors praised the calm and purposeful atmosphere in classrooms and corridors and noted the positive relationships students have with their teachers. Students feel safe, attend well and know who they can turn to if they need support. Engagement in lessons is good and students collaborate well and work hard.

Ian Moreton, Headteacher at Kingswinford Academy, said: “Our school motto is ‘Aspire to Excellence’ and I’m incredibly proud that the hard work of our committed staff and students was recognised during the inspection. We pride ourselves in being one of the very best schools in the area whilst remaining very much at the heart of our community. We’re looking forward to building on the strong foundations laid out in the report as we continue to ensure that we unlock all students’ academic and personal potential.â€

Dr Dan Owen, Director of Education at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, said: “I am proud that Kingswinford Academy continues to be a ‘Good’ school and sets such high standards. The school’s ethos of high aspiration and excellence is fully embedded in every aspect of school life and children receive a first class education.â€

Dawn Haywood, CEO at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, said: “This report recognises the school’s  continued commitment to excellence and reflects the collective strength of our family of schools who work collaboratively to unlock the academic and personal potential of all our young people. I could not be more proud of our leaders, staff and students at the school.â€
